SAP Data Services Blueprints

A blueprint is a sample SAP Data Services job that is configured with best practices to solve a specific scenario. Each blueprint is an end-to-end job that includes sample data and may be run in the customer environment with only a few modifications. Some jobs include batch data flows and some include real-time data flows; some jobs include party data and some include product data. Data quality jobs include structured data, and text data processing jobs include unstructured data.

Hi ,

I want to load excel file from the FTP. I have created one folder FTP called test  and kept the excel file .

But when I am trying load excel file into table  or view the data from excel file  it is throwing error like

FTP could not transfer file </TEST/EMP.XLSX> from host <www.0catch.com>: <>. Ensure that the FTP relative path for the SAP server working directory is set correctly such that the data file is accessible to the FTP program.  Also, ensure that the target path, where the transferred file is written to, is correct.

I am using DS 4.1 SP2.

Please help me how to resolve this issue.

Hi Everyone,

This document is mainly focused on value-Aid to Business and Customer using SAP BODS and SAP BO

The SAP BusinessObjects solution portfolio delivers extreme insight through specialized end-user tools on a single, trusted business intelligence platform.

This entire platform is supported by SAP BusinessObjects Data Services. On top of SAP BusinessObjects Data Services, the SAP BusinessObjectssolution portfolio layers the most reliable, scalable, flexible, and manageable business intelligence (BI) platform which supports the industry's bestintegrated end-user interfaces: reporting, query and analysis, and performance management dashboards, scorecards, and applications.

True data integration blends batch extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) technology with real-time bi-directional data flow across multipleapplications for the extended enterprise.

By building a relational datastore and intelligently blending direct real-time and batch data-access methods to access data from enterprise resourceplanning (ERP) systems and other sources, SAP has created a powerful, high-performance data integration product that allows you to fully leverageyour ERP and enterprise application infrastructure for multiple uses.

SAP deeply integrates the entire ETL process with the business intelligenceplatform so you benefit from:

Easy metadata management

Simplified and unified administration

Life cycle management

Trusted information

Value Aid to Business and Customer using SAP BODS:

Use SAP BusinessObjects Data Services to develop enterprise data integration for batch and real-time uses. With the software:

You can create a single infrastructure for batch and real-time data movement to enable faster and lower cost implementation.

Your enterprise can manage data as a corporate asset independent of any single system. Integrate data across many systems and reuse that data  for many purposes.

You have the option of using pre-packaged data solutions for fast deployment and quick ROI.

SAP Business Objects Universe

Universe is a semantic layer between end user’s reporting solution and the data source. This layer doesn’t require the users to get involved with the intricacies of the underlying data structure, and simplifies  their access to the source.

Universe are made up of elements such as objects and classes. Objects are the basic data components in a database that you use in a query to retrieve data. A collection of  these objects  is known as a class.

An example would be a class named Customer, which includes objects Name, Age and Address.

Value-Aid to Business and Customer using SAP BO

Web Intelligence enables you to query data without any knowledge of SQL, customize the presentation of reports, organize reports and interact with reports.

why it is loading the data in exception table?

$

Hi All,

I have two Sources one is Base files(AS400) and another one is Pub Fies (TIBCO).

First, I ran the Base file job , It is loaded data in target table

and again I ran Pub file Job , if the data matches for both the tables it is going to exception table, otherwise it is going to target table.

I have setup the Scheduling for the Pub file Job every one hour running continuously.

Initially, they are not loaded any data ,by the end of today they are uploaded the data for 10 records in pub file.

next day morning, I have verified the Oracle target table and exception table., Is loaded the data in target table  but it is not loaded exception table.

I have verified the log file , it is showing the message , it is loading to the data exception table.

For example:

Base file :

State degree policy type

LA 6 CC

MA5 OC

IN 4 CM

Pub file data:

State Degree Policy type ADB OPCODE

LA 6 CC  1

FL 5 OC  3

The Primary keys  are state, degree and Policy type.

I  think it should be going to one records in exception table.

Please let me know if any one tell above the question..

-- My Analysis :

-->  BODS is generating  Statement :  INSERT with BIND Variables to insert data in toa target.

            Just like : source : Decimal(48,8) , in target Decimal(28,8) , but when i test with big values ,

oracle was throwing Value too large , not null terminator.

How to specify the 'Driver'- 'D match_status' record based on a column value in Match Transform?

$
0
0

The Driver record resulting out of the Match Transforms is observed to be picked up randomly. Is there any way to specify the record that should be used as Driver and rest of records in that group be identified as Passenger or Unique record?

Ex: The output is expected to have record coming from source S1 as Driver 'D match_status' record and records from any other sources should be 'P'. Something like below

Table1 :

AddressSourceMatch_StatusMatch_Score
abc addressS1D
abc addressS2P100
bcd addressS1D
bc addressS3P98

But Match_status is assigned D to a random record within a group. Something like below

Table2:

AddressSourceMatch_StatusMatch_Score
abc addressS1P100
abc addressS2D
bcd addressS1D
bc addressS3P98

How to achieve the Match transform output as in Table1? Any thoughts?

Data Services 4.0 Performance issues and crashes

$

We are currently using data services 4.0 (14.0.2.262) and we have several folks working in India.  All have the designer installed on their desktops.  I have had several reports of individuals trying to import tables from datastores (specifically an SAP datastore) where they right click and use the "Import by Name" feature.  The data services designer subsequently closes without them selecting a table and they need to log back in.  In addition the performance itself is very slow to log in, open dataflows, etc. Since everyone is using the data services designer on their desktops I can chalk that up to network latency I believe, however, it is leading to a lot of frustration because of the tool going down when they try to do basic functions like importing.

Is this a known bug or is there a way to monitor to see what is happening at the point it crashes?

Hello All,

We are currently working on SAP BODS 4.0 SP and BW 7.3.

BW is the target system.

We are planning to upgrage from BW 7.3 to BW 7.4.

I wanted to know if there are any dependency of this upgrage on current version of SAP BODS.

Also it would be great if someone can highlight the combatibility between DS4.0 sp2 and BW 7.4 , any known issues.

Hello,

We are calling RFC BAPI from ECC to BODS to import data via BAPI. When we imported the BAPI structure to BODS, one of the import parameter is not imported. We have two import parameters, 1. CHK_CHANGES, 2. CHK_DATE. I see CHK_DATE field, but not the CHK_CHANGES field in BODS.

Also, I have attached screen shots of ECC and BODS.

Please provide any insight to over this problem.

Thanks,
