How to execute BODS job using a service account like SVC* instead of using SYSTEM account?
We are trying execute a job that reads data from a file located in network drive. It is throwing access issue - unable to open the file.
We saw that job is running with SYSTEM as user instead of service account SVC*.
how do we change the job server configuration to run the job with service account?

How to remote execute a shell script from BODS
Hi,
I have to call a shell script (say Test.sh) which is on a Linux machine/server.
My BODS is on a Unix machine(AIX 6.1).
Now i need to use exec() function to call this shell script and remote execute it.
This shell script has a command which makes use of a command line utility that's already installed on the Linux server.
Note : I am not sure of the syntax and what parameters i have to pass to access the shell script that's on a different server.
Please help me in doing this.

CMC vs IPS (Data services Config)
Hi All,
I have 2 questions:
1. What are the minimum permissions required for the BO user to be used in Data Services? We have just installed Data services for a client who has been running SAP BO for a while, now they are worried about giving Admin right to the user that will be used in Data Services.
2. If they decide to go for the IPS route, does IPS come with a free license, or do they have to may for the license?

I enable CDC for the SFDC DataStore and also we provide the CDC options

2. Enable the check-Point
But I am getting the below error:

Hello All,
I have some problems to write a script to rename a file on a network path.
My script is :

Am getting the error :

An existing connection was forcibly closed
Hi,
I'm using DS 4.0 SP3.
My daily job until last thursday worked correctly, but last three days I've got below error:
ODBC data source <LPPLSQLCL0002\LPPLSQLCL0001> error message for operation <SQLFetchScroll>: <[Microsoft][SQL Server Native
Client 10.0]TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
This happened almost at the same time: 4am - 5am but every time in diffrent workflow.
I've checked log of the server where DS is isntalled and I haven't found any error.
I've checked with administrator the log of sql server 2008 also and there was no information of error.
Do you have any idea where is the problem and what else can I check?

Slowly Changing Dimension - Type 1
Slowly Changing Dimension – Type 1 is useful when you need not to maintain the historical data. Below are the two cases explained for implementation of SCD -Type 1 using ‘Auto Correct Load’ Option available in the target table.
Case 1:New record from source
The new records from source will be passed/written to the target table as ‘Insert’ records.
Case 2:Existing record with update in non-key columns
The update value from the source will overwrite the existing values in the target table. These records will be passed as ‘update’ records.
How to implement?
- Map your source to the target table. If needed any transformations use a query/any other you like.
- Map your output schema of the last transform to the target table.
- Open the target table and navigate to the ‘Options’ tab.
- Under ‘Advanced’ section, in ‘Update Control’ set ‘Auto Correct Load’ option to ‘Yes’. This should set the option ‘Allow merge or upsert’ option to ‘Yes’ by default.
- Save your mapping. Run the job.

How it Works?
Dataflow generates a merge statement when ‘Auto Correct Load’ option is set to yes. If you set the second option ‘Allow merge or upsert’ to No manually, the dataflow generates a transact sql code.

Steps to set up Central and local repositories and recommendations
Hi All,
I have only set up local repositories because I was the only developer but I now have a need to have central and local repositories. Assuming that SAP BO IPS and SAP BODS have been installed already.
Server:
Steps to set up Central and local repositories and recommendations:
1. Create a db in the dbms on the server to be the central repo.
2. Set this an odbc for this db.
3. Set this db up as a central repository on the repository manager.
4. Link this central repo to the designer in IPS/BO and assign relevant permissions to the users.
Client:
1. Install BODS client tools
Questions:
1. Where do I setup database to be to local repository, on the server or individual client machines?
2. Where do I create needed odbc connections server or client?
3. Which repository manager do I use to create the local repository, server or client?
4. Does each user have his local repository or one shared by everyone?
5. Link local repositories to IPS/BO
6. Assign full permissions to relevent users.
Please guide on the steps, I am not getting this info with proper steps to follow and where what must be done.

2. How to uninstall the DQM ?

DQM integration with CRM application
Hi All,
I had integrated the Data services with CRM front end application. here we need to run one report which will communicative between the two systems.
After run the report in /ose38 we are getting an error : NO RFC Server connection to system.
Report Name : /FLDQ/RSPRODVER.
In DS Management console all Real time services are up and running and test connection for two RFC's (BATCH and SERVER) are working fine.
List of integration products I had followed by PAM and more over the same environment is working fine in QUA system.
-> Sql Server 2008 R2 version.
-> IPS 4.0 SP04
-> DS 4.0 SP03 Patch 5
-> DQM Data Service Component 4.0 SP02
-> RFC Server 4.0 SP2
Please help me on this.

When i try to deploy it manually .I get the same error in CMC :???dummy.action.DS.Repository_List.display.name??????Request to please suggest any solution.

Having a challenging time. Can get the WSDL to load if I have it local but it will not connect to the web service when running a batch job.

Repositories going to Inactive State frequently
Hi SCN Members,
We have an issue with the repositories in SAP BODS 4.2. We have installed the Server version and created repositories (both central and local) and added them in CMC as well. All the repositories are given all the required privileges. But every few days the repositories go to an inactive state in CMC.
And also, in the DSMC, the repositories have a warning symbol next to them and the following message is displayed in the status tab:
Repository <repo-name> : Invalid repository (BODI-3015004)
Once we change the host entry in CMC from IP to Hostname or vice versa for that particular repository then it will switch to active state.
Does anyone have any idea about why this might be occuring and if there is any fix for this occurrence.

How can I merge multiple spreadsheets using Data Services ?
Using Data Services, I am attempting to import multiple .xls spreadsheets to merge them into one table. There is a large number of spreadsheets so doing a format for each one is not practical.
The spreadsheets are all formatted the same and have a common naming convention
I am using *** as wildcards in the File Format: example AGI_Template_***.xls
My job is currently only reading records from the 1st file in the source folder.
I have attached the log and error log - Error is: OLE or COM processing error. Please make sure Microsoft Access Database Engine is properly installed <%1>

BODI-1112339 error while importing table from HANA
Hi Experts,
I created a Data store for HANA database Connecting through DSN (using the
HDBODBC32). I am able to connect the database through DS but not able to import the table.
Below is the error message I am facing:
ODBC datasource <DSN_Name> error message for operation <SQL columns>:
<[SAP AG] [LIBODBCHDB32DLL] [HDBODBC32] general error-10304 Parameter/Column(5) not Bound.> (BODI-1112339)
Please suggest how to resolve this issue.

DS job scheduling using solution manager?
Hi All,
Can we schedule DS jobs using SAP Solution Manager 7.1? Also can we transport objects developed from one environment to another (i.e DEV -->QA ) apart from export option in DS or using central repository using SAP solution manager?
Kindly help on this.
I have read the we can monitor jobs in solution manager if we are scheduling jobs using BOE scheduler.
