We are using BODS 4.2 as an ETL tool between SAP/ECC 6.0 and BW 7.0. Currently we are using regular data flows to extract data from ECC tables. We found out about ABAP data flows and are wondering if there is an advantage to using them?
Also we ran into a situation with a regular dataflow where the source table MSEG is very large. In the BODS query there is a where condition on the posting date of the row. However, the where clause is not included in the optimized SQL. This is causing BODS to process every row in the table rather than filtering at the database. Is there a way to force the where statement to the database? The PushDown as it is referred to, would using an ABAP dataflow correct this?
