Could someone at SAP please provide some insight as to when SAP Data Services 4.1/4.2 will support Microsoft Windows Server 2012 as a server platform and Microsoft SQL Server 2012 for repository databases?
The DS 4.1 SP2 PAM does not mention Windows Server 2012 at all and does not list MS SQL Server 2012 as a supported database for DS repositories - although source and target data stores on SQL 2012 are supported. The DS 4.2 PAM is even less helpful as it seems to be a copy from the DS 4.1 PAM without any real tangible updates.
We see ever more customers actively moving off their Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 infrastructure and onto Server/SQL 2012. Data Services is becoming increasingly isolated as one of the few environments that still require legacy Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 infrastructure.
While I can understand that DS 4.2 is in ramp-up and we may get DS 4.2 SP1 as the GA release - the complete lack of communication around the support of Microsoft Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 is creating a lot of uncertainty among our customer base.
Any insights from SAP would be much appreciated.
