Data services 4.1sp2 import and export .

Urgent . Please help .

 

I met a serious problem about import and export on BODS 4.1sp2 .

 

Recently I'm migrating our bods from 3.2 to 4.1sp2 .

I exported our old programs into a .xml file on bods 3.2 , then imported bods 4.1sp2.

But my job failed , and it only can be run successfully only after I opened some work flows and saved some changes .

In fact , I haven't changed anything.

 

And another weird thing .

After above steps, the job could run successfully. I exported this job, and imported into bods 4.2 again.

But it failed again with the same error message.

 

Problem 1:

I think a well-working job still could run well  after export and import  .

Why did my job fail ?

 

Problem 2:

While exporting my job, the bods give my three options :

               export to repository , export to atl file, export to xml file .

I think bods export my changes to repository after I save the changes ?

Is that true  ?

I almost found the answer .

Before the job failed , because I exported and imported as a .xml file .

Now I exported and imported as a .atl file , and the job run successfully .

 

But why .xml file can't  ?

when i am logging in to SAP BO DS 4.0 Designer i am getting the error as Application will be terminated (BODI-1270012)

 

system call<loadlibrary>to load and initialize DLL or shared library functions failed for <ds_crypto_.dll). Ensure that the library is installed and located correctly.

DS 4.1 SP02 Workbench and Win AD Authentication

Hi Folks,

 

i have a Question with regards to the DS Workbench. We have Set Up IPS 4.0 SP8 and DS 4.1 SP2 on a single Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Bit.

 

We configured manual Windows AD Authentication for the IPS. It already works fine for the CMC and the DS Designer.

 

The Question is how do we Set Up the Workbench in order to leverage the manual Windows AD Authentication there?

 

As it is an Eclipse based Tool i think it would be similar as with the Information Design Tool or the Design Studio from the BI Product Line. But i was not able to find any Information in the official Documentation and in the KB.

 

What i can say that it is not working after a default Setup.

 

Any ideas?

BODI-300056 error when migrating repository from 3.2 to 4.2

I just installed IPS 4.1 sp2 and Data Services 4.2 successfully. Somehow, when I tried to migrate repository using Repository Manager, I got the captioned error. The message was indicating that a primary key was already in existance and therefore, can not be recreated so that the local repository upgrade was cancelled. I am attaching the detail message below...

Hello Experts,

I'm new to BODS....Could you please help to determine the approach to be followed in order to load data using BODS 4.1 from mainframe as source and SAP ECC CRM as destination?

Please provide with some documentation in case you have any or simply providing some pointers would also be of help.

BODS jobs related to database tables are not changing the status from ‘PROCEED’ to ‘STOP’

Hello,

 

All BODS jobs which have DB tables involved are not showing
as ‘Completed successfully’ after execution even though data are getting loaded
into tables. I have checked table level locks in DB , and there is no lock involved in my SQL server.

 

But jobs which does not have SQL tables involved are givingCompleted successfully’
status.

 

This issue is not allowing me to add other data flow after the
first as second is never getting executed. I have attached the monitor screen.

Installer has detected that a previous operation did not complete.

Hi all,

 

I'm getting following error message while installing Information Steward 4.0 SP1.

 

Installer has detected that a previous operation did not complete. Do you want to resume?'

 

 

I guess this is due to the partial install that did not complete previously. I tried deleting the Information Steward folder from Program files and also relevant registry keys but that didn't resolve this issue.

 

As a last resort, I renamed InstallData folder in C drive but while installing IS it is not detecting already installed BI4 Platform and Data Services. Is there solution for this?? I don't want to corrupt my BI4 Platform and DS installation.

"Data services designer" launch slowly .

I imported many programs ( about 300 jobs and workflows ) into BODS 4.1sp2.

 

Then I found the data services designe spent a lot of time (more than 5 mins) to launch .

 

I don't mean that designer spent lots of time to run , just launch .

 

How can I optimize this  ?

                I want to do delta data loading for BSEG table, As i am new to DATA SERVICES please let me know step by step process for delta data loading for BSEG table.

 

1.the BSEG table is directly fetch from ECC.

2.I have 2 environments in data services that is ECC and Oracle, so that i can drag and drop BSEG table from ECC, and then do the process for delta data loading.

The purpose of this document is to set rights & security at “Repository” level in SAP BusinessObjects BI platform or Information platform services for SAP Data Services 4.x designer user & SAP Business Objects Data Services Management console users.

User & rights security management in SAP Business Objects Information Platform Services/ SAP Business Objects BI Platform:

Groups are collections of users who share the same account privileges. Therefore, you may create groups that are based on department, role, or location. Groups enable you to change the rights for users in one place (a group) instead of modifying the rights for each user account individually. Also, you can assign object rights to a group or groups.

 

In the "Users and Groups" area of the Central Management Console (CMC), you can create groups that give a number of people access to the report or folder. This enables you to make changes in one place instead of modifying each user account individually.

 

In addition to the basic SAP BusinessObjects BI platform or Information platform services group accounts, Data Services includes several default group accounts:

Data Services Administrator

Members of this group have access to all Data Services administrative

  1. Functionality.

Data Services Multi-user Administrator

Members of this group are limited to managing secure central repositories.

This role is a subset of the Data Services Administrator role. Multiuser

Data Services Monitor User

Members of this group have access limited to options available from the Status tabs. For example, a monitor user can abort batch jobs but cannot execute or schedule them. Data Services Profiler Administrator

Members of this group are limited to managing profiler repositories. This

role is a subset of the Administrator role. Profiler administrators can:

• Manage profiler tasks in any profiler repository.

Members of this group are limited to managing profiler tasks in the

profiler repository that is configured for the user.

data services and information platform services update

Hello,

 

I am working on migrating our Data Service 4.0 server (Win2008R2) to new hardware.  I am new to SAP installations. The Data Services Management Console is on a separate dedicated small VM.  I found the original install media, but am confused regarding CMS for Data Services.  The install guide says to use either IPS or full CMS.

 

How can I know if we are running Information Platform Services on the VM to provide the Data Services Management Console? Perhaps, it is a full CMS install? Also, I have been trying to find a description of the Information Platform Services.  Is it just a small CMS install?  Ours is running Tomcat.

 

Where is the Data Services server and CMS server relationship defined?  Example, we have found most places where the SQL connections for repositories or BOE databases are defined. Is there a configuration somewhere beyond the "System" used when logging into Data Services?

I observed that I have Option to Enter only One table at a time in Import.

I there any way to import all table structure in a time.

After some debug, I found it's the problem of "Data_Transfer".

If I set "Automatic" to "Transfer Type" , my data flow will fail.

If I set "Table" or "File" to "Transfer Type", my data flow run successfully.

 

And I have aother data flow that is very similiar with this failed one.

I set "Automatic" to "Transfer Type", that flow also could run successfull. 

 

Enviroment :  bods 4.1sp2

 

Do somebody know why  ? If it's a bug, which release will you resolve it ?

Calling Process chain from Dataservices via OHD

HI Guys,

 

We have encountered an issue while running a Process chain from BODS via OHD.

The below script will call a process chain using OHD. Our intention is to run the process chain not to get the data for OHD.

 

sap_openhub_processchain_execute('DS_PH_IBI_Source','YYOXPND2','ZBW_BODS_OHD',$logid,$ReturnTxt);

 

After executing the script the Process chain got executed successfully in the BW side but ends up in BODS error as below.

 

We have created and configured OHD and Process chain as mentioned in the link below

Error listed

Error Information Platform services 4 installed

Hi,

 

When I try to install 4.2 getting error like "Information Platform services 4 installed" but when I try to install without IPS  BODS 4.2 pre request doesnt meet and again getting prerequest error.

 

FYI.. Existing system I had BODS 4.0 but I have reinstalled everything and try install 4.2

 

Please kindly see the attached screen shot.
